医疗衞生服务 MEDICAL AND HEALTH SERVICES 38 Kwong Wah Hospital is being redeveloped to meet modern healthcare and service development trends. Following the funding approval of $10,083.3 million by the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council, Phase 1 superstructure and associated works, which commenced in May 2019, was completed in December 2022. The new hospital complex in Phase 1 is capable of accommodating the clinical services that need to be relocated due to Phase 2 redevelopment. The Hospital has exerted full efforts to expedite the commissioning in the first quarter of 2023 to ensure most hospital services can be moved into the new building by the second quarter of 2023. Phase 2 demolition and substructure works will be commenced as scheduled in the third quarter of 2023 which would comprise the demolition of the East and North Wings and Central Stack of the existing Main Hospital Building, TWGH Yu Chun Keung Memorial Medical Centre and staff barracks, for the construction of a new hospital complex in Phase 2. Alteration and renovation works of the existing TWGHs Tsui Tsin Tong Outpatient Building will follow upon the completion of Phase 2 building. The whole redevelopment project is expected to be completed in 2029.
