Tung Wah organizes large-scale children green education programme to groom little green angels with environmental awareness starting from young age

Tung Wah Group of Hospitals organized a large-scale Children Green Education Programme “TWGHs Little Green Angel” which will span over 2 academic years (2009-2010 and 2010-2011) on 24 September. The kick-off ceremony has represented one of the biggest events ever held for young children on the theme of green learning with the full participation of over 1,100 pupils from 15 kindergartens (K3 class) and 15 nursery schools (N4 class) of Tung Wah. All the pupils made the pledge at the ceremony together to demonstrate their commitment in leading a Green living style.

Tung Wah is one of the largest schools sponsoring bodies in Hong Kong, as well as the largest charitable organization with the longest history and the most diversified services. Tung Wah is also the first charitable organization having been approved of the colossal amount of sponsorship from the Environment and Conservation Fund for implementing a 3-year programme “Tung Wah Group of Hospitals To Move Towards a Green Organization”. With a belief that Green education should start with young children, the 30 kindergartens and nursery schools have already mapped out a programme under the theme of “Smart Living” targeting at young children and their parents.
