Student Guidance and Counselling Service
The Student Guidance and Counselling Section, established in 1993, provides guidance support for Tung Wah students.
To help students with personal, family, interpersonal and learning difficulties
To enhance teachers’ understanding of the developmental needs of students as well as their counselling skills
To promote parent education through seminars and workshops on the theme of child rearing and adolescent development
School-based counselling service
To design and organize preventive and developmental programmes for developing students’ potentials as well as building up their self-confidence and sense of responsibility
To conduct educational research for facilitating school development
To support schools in the handling of crisis and related follow-up work
Educational Psychology Service Centre
The first Ho Yuk Ching Educational Psychology Services Centre under the Student Guidance and Counselling Section was opened to public in September 2012, whereas the second Centre was set up in 2019 in Shatin. In addition to assessment and consultation, the Centre’s psychologists and social workers continue to provide training programmes and workshops for students, teachers and parents in helping school children with special educational needs.
The Centres have extended its professional services of assessments, consultations and trainings to students of those schools that currently are not served by the Group, and have made themselves as a major strategic partner to the schools in need.
