Senior Assistant Purchasing Manager

Location: Sheung Wan

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Implement centralized procurement exercises in compliance with the Group’s policies, procedure and regulations;
  • compile collective or multiple user requirements in line with the procurement specifications;
  • monitor suppliers’ performance to meet the required standard as stipulated in procurement terms and conditions;
  • assess suppliers to identify qualified companies for bidding exercises;
  • advise service centres on contract administration;
  • coordinate between suppliers and service centres on conflict resolution;
  • deliver administrative support in planning and organizing insurance services, handling claims and work injury management and liaising with insurance brokers or companies; and
  • provide executive support in staff management including manpower arrangement as well as rendering supervision and guidance to subordinates.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • a recognized degree preferably in business/ administration/ procurement/ finance/ accounting/ logistics or related field;
  • at least 6 years’ working experience, of which at least 3 years at supervisory level in procurement or related field;
  • working knowledge in insurance arrangement and handling;
  • strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skill for small team;
  • preferably holding certificate/diploma in purchasing and membership of the Institute of Purchasing & Supply of Hong Kong; and
  • preferably good knowledge in insurance policies & regulations and hands-on personal computer skills and experience in the operation of computerized procurement system.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience. The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships. The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
