Deputy Head (Fund-raising)

Roles & responsibilities:
- Assist the Head of Fund-raising Division in leading the Division to formulate strategies and implement annual plan of the Fund-raising Division (FRD) within budget, as well as solicit and manage donation income to meet the corporate objectives and support the Group’s service goals;
- direct the organization of innovative and large scale fund-raising programmes/campaigns with engagement of donors and former Board Members in different fund-raising campaigns and schemes, to effectively meet various fund-raising needs as required by the Group;
- build and develop sustainable relationship with major individual donors, funds, banks, public utilities, corporations, general public and the mass media to promote the image and fund-raising effectiveness of the Group;
- oversee the development of the new Donor Relationship Management (DRM) section to ensure its interface and functionality meet the latest market trend and the Division’s need. Oversee the set up of the DRM Platform. Introduce measures and strategies to engage donors to expand the donor database;
- manage the fund-raising policies and related procedures including the acquisitions of bequests and properties, the naming of centres, setting up of scholarship and foundation, and arranging porcelain photos, as well as ensure the processing of the related transactions and donations are in compliance with the Group’s policies, procedures and relevant legislations;
- oversee the overall donations administration including periodic review of donation reports and analyses, donation accounts, the Board’s PR funds, event allocation, and cumulative pool funds as well as ensure an effective management of the Group’s donation funds and the accountability of the Group;
- develop and implement strategies and programmes to diversify fund-raising sources including donation-in-kind, new donation channels, collaboration opportunities with external parties and product marketability to enhance the Group’s corporate brand image for achieving sustainable fund-raising results;
- render management support over general administration and operation of the FRD, formulate manpower plan with talent development through various training and job rotations and ensure that the staff team is well equipped with functional/technical/managerial leadership competencies to effectively deliver their duties; and
- manage beneficiary events. Coordinate daily administration of The Association of Chairmen of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals.
The ideal candidate should have/be:
- A recognized degree or equivalent, preferably with an advanced degree;
- at least 12 years of management experience preferably in public administration;
- should possess knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- Acquired knowledge on:
- Tung Wah services, benefits of equipment and facilities
- Naming policies, donation procedures, acknowledgement and signage
- Corporate development strategies
- Donor database management
- Procedural and legal knowledge on Wills and bequests
- Risk-sense and knowledge: fund-raising programme and reputation risks, cash handling and relationship risks
- Latest concepts and practices in fund-raising as well as government policies on fund-raising
- Divisional administrative work & personnel matters
- People skills:
- Sociable, pleasant, good communicator and trustworthy
- Salesmanship: persuasive, persistent and flexible
- Sensitivity to the perspectives of Board members and donors
- Networking skills and aptitudes
- Gaming skills
- Willingness to work unsocial hours and in the entertainment environment
- Organizational skills:
- Events organization: planning, execution and attention to detail
- Management of cash handling and donation boxes
- Acquired knowledge on:
- proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Compensation & employment terms:
The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience. The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships. The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
