Assistant Purchasing Manager

Location: Sheung Wan
Roles & responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and implementation of the centralized procurement exercise;
- identify user purchase need under market trend to accurate procurement specifications on product/service;
- review feedback from users and conduct supplier assessment, evaluation as well as coaching;
- assist in maintaining the procurement regulations in conformity with the Group’s policies and related funding bodies for compliance;
- coordinate with users and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products/services and conduct quality check on behalf of user when necessary;
- assist in the planning and organizing insurance services, handling claims and work injury management; and
- render administration support in budget and office management.
The ideal candidates should have/be:
- a recognized degree preferably in Business/Administration/Procurement/Finance/Accounting/Logistic or equivalent;
- 6 years’ working experience of which 3 years in procurement or related field and at least 2 years of supervisory experience;
- hands on personal computer skills;
- working knowledge in insurance arrangement and handling;
- good communication, interpersonal and leadership skills;
- preferably membership of Institute of Purchasing & Supplies of Hong Kong;
- preferably Certificate or Diploma in purchasing;
- preferably good knowledge in insurance policies & regulation; and
- experience preferably in the utilization of computerized procurement system.

Compensation & employment terms:
The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience. The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships. The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
