Assistant Clerk of Works

Location: Sheung Wan
Roles & responsibilities:
- Check and report the progress of works and provide professional advice and take appropriate actions to rectify technical problems encountered on sites;
- attend meetings as directed by superior, coordinate and liaise with nominated sub-contractors, consultants, suppliers and user Divisions;
- check building defects for users, identify discrepancies on site and report findings to superior;
- prepare cost estimate, rough sketches, outline working drawings and simple tender documents, etc. for minor works;
- prepare rough sketches and outline working drawings for superior’s review and approval; and
- supervise and provide guidance to subordinate staff.
The ideal candidate should have/be:
- (a) Diploma/Higher Certificate in Building/Building Studies from a recognized institute plus 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience; or
(b) Certificate in Building/Building Studies from a recognized institute plus 6 years’ relevant post-qualification experience; - at least Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in HKCEE or equivalent; and
- preferably proper technical competent and good interpersonal skills.

Compensation & employment terms:
The successful candidate will initially be offered a 3-year contract with a remuneration package which will be commensurate with his/her background and experience. The continuation of employment and employment terms thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement. Apart from contributions to the MPF Scheme, other benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships. The incumbent will normally work under a 5-day week schedule subject to operational needs and exigencies of the service.
