TWGHs Charity Night “Since 1870… ALWAYS”
To continue Its Charitable Cause of Serving the Community
Committed to its inaugural mission to promote the wellbeing of the needy and benefit society as a whole, the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) hosted the 144thAnnual Charity Dinner entitled TWGHs Charity Night “Since 1870… ALWAYS” on 23 January at InterContinental Hong Kong to raise fund for development projects of its services. The Hon John TSANG Chun Wah, GBM, JP, Financial Secretary of HKSAR, joined Mr. SZE Wing Hang, Ivan, Chairman of TWGHs in officiating at the event and witnessed the presentation ceremony of two donation cheques – worth HK$2,000,000 and HK$1,606,600 – generously donated by Ms. CHAN Wai Kuen and The Sir Robert HO Tung Charitable Fund respectively. Mr. SZE Wing Hang, Ivan, Chairman of TWGHs, also on behalf of TWGHs, received a donation cheque – worth HK$900,000 – from Mr. Andy CHAN of AD Design & Contracting Ltd. In addition to TWGHs board members, the event was graced by the presence of leading philanthropists and luminaries.
Over 140 performers from different service units of TWGHs were joined by dancers of Dancing Angels to present a flash mob performance entitled “Hand-in-Hand” which was choreographed by famous dance choreographer Mr. Andy Wong. Participated TWGHs service units include dancing group of people with disabilities and elderly group from TWGHs Jockey Club Rehabilitation Complex, choir from Lee Ching Dea Memorial College, primary students from Lo Yu Chik Primary School, and Dance Sing Angels and choir from Jockey Club Lei Tung Integrated Services Centre. TWGHs Board of Directors also joined the performance by singing greatest classics together with all the performers, symbolizing the consolidated efforts by TWGHs to promote positive energy in Hong Kong.
The annual charity dinner was hosted by Ms. Maisy HO, 1st Vice-Chairman of TWGHs cum Organizing Committee Chairman, Mr. SZE Wing Hang, Ivan, Chairman of TWGHs cum Organizing Committee Co-chairman and Dr TSOI Wing Sing, Ken, Director of TWGHs cum Organizing Committee Co-chairman. Other committee members included Mr. Vinci WONG, 4th Vice-Chairman of TWGHs; Mr. Sunny TAN, 5th Vice-Chairman of TWGHs; Ms. TANG Ming Wai, Mandy, Director of TWGHs; and Ms. Renee HUNG, Director of TWGHs. The committee extended its sincere gratitude towards donors from different sectors for their generous support for TWGHs. All direct costs of the event have been sponsored by TWGHs Board of Directors andno administrative expenses would be deducted.
