Assistant Community Health Officer

Location: Central & Western District

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Act as the members ambassador and perform multiple tasks to provide in centre and community outreach support for healthcare and service development team;
  • provide reception services, including handling membership registration, members briefing, activities, general and telephone enquiry;
  • assist nursing staff in assessment, consultation and health education both in the Central & Western District Centre (C&W DHC) and community education / health assessment activities / home visits;
  • assist in organizing various health promotion activities and self-help management programs;
  • assist in the operation, service and administrative work of the C&W DHC; and
  • perform any other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • Associate Degree or Higher Diploma in health-related disciplines, such as public health, community healthcare, nutritional studies, exercise science, health education, gerontology, psychology, etc. or equivalent; and
  • at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will be appointed on contract terms with a salary currently at $18,305 per month (Tung Wah Master Pay Scale Point 4) plus a community outreach allowance currently at $1,000.  The salary is subject to downward/upward adjustment or may be frozen as determined by Tung Wah and/or as appropriate with reference to the civil service pay review.  The fringe benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.
