Pharmacist

Location: Central & Western District

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Offer drug review and counselling on disease management or related services and coordinate the service network with the community pharmacist and community pharmacy;
  • provide pharmacy services to clients including drug counselling, education on medication compliance and promoting literacy;
  • plan, develop and deliver education / training programs on medication management and safety;
  • conduct medication review and counselling, and offer smoking cession counselling;
  • participate in multi-disciplinary case conferences; and
  • perform any other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • a qualification registrable in Hong Kong under the Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance, Chapter 138;
  • a valid Practicing Certificate issued by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong;
  • at least Grade D in English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the HKCEE or equivalent;
  • at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience; and
  • good computer literacy and fluent Cantonese.

Remarks:

1. Relevant experience acquired after registration with the Pharmacy Boards in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and USA may be accepted as post-registration experience.

Compensation & employment terms:

The successful candidate will be appointed on contract terms with a salary currently at $61,865 per month (Tung Wah Master Pay Scale Point 27).  Entry salary depends on years of recognized experience.  The salary is subject to downward/upward adjustment or may be frozen as determined by Tung Wah and/or as appropriate with reference to the civil service pay review.  The fringe benefits include paid annual leave, medical services, a dental scheme and training sponsorships.
