Education Tour in San Francisco

With an aim to promote all-round education, Dr. LEE Yuk Lun, JP, the Chairman cum Honorary Supervisor, took this opportunity to lead 24 student ambassadors from TWGHs affiliated secondary schools to join an educational tour to San Francisco from 19 to 29 October. Besides participating in the “Episode: Requiem” Exhibition, which broadened their knowledge about TWGHs’ bone repatriation service, the student ambassadors also visited different historical sites and met with various Chinese groups to understand more about the history of Chinese diaspora and their contribution over the years.

Arrangements were also made for students to visit Stanford University and the Google’s headquarters and to join Board Members in meeting with some of the Board of Supervisors of San Francisco. Since the educational tour is one of the official events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, TWGHs specially arranged students to pay courtesy visits to the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco. A professional development training tour was also conducted for 16 principals of TWGHs secondary schools, offering them an invaluable opportunity to visit and engage with local educational institutions.
