Chairman’s Message

Chairman Mr. SZE Wing Hang, Ivan

Today, I am singularly honoured to be the Chairman of the year and would like to share my story about TWGHs. In 2008, I was recommended by the then Chairman Mr. Patrick MA, BBS, JP and returned to Tung Wah after a one-year director mission in 2003. My six-year journey from board member to Chairman is just like a fleeting glimpse. My parents have always taught me that I should contribute to the society and care for our nation. With my brothers’ support, I have finally joined and devoted myself to TWGHs. I hope the philanthropic spirit of TWGHs will pass on to the next generation.

This year, we aim at finishing the blueprint for Kwong Wah Hospital Redevelopment project. Following the success of iBakery, we are determined to explore other social enterprise services in the coming year. For education, we target raising $1 million for the “Support Scheme for Sport and Art Elite Students” and developing Tung Wah College into a private university specializing in healthcare education.

TWGHs GREEN Organization Campaigns – Organic Farmer Workshop

TWGHs GREEN Organization Campaigns – Organic Farmer WorkshopTWGHs launched its debut organic farming workshop for staff last year on the green roof at the TWGHs Administration Headquarters, which is now being totally transformed into an organic farmland. Since the response was overwhelming, we held our second workshop to introduce to our staff the benefits of green roof and the basic farming knowledge and techniques such as culturing seedlings and fertilizing. After continuous efforts for a few months, there are crops, like lettuce, cabbage and tribute vegetable waiting to be harvested. Not only can this workshop provide fun for our colleagues, but it also promotes the message of environment protection and green living.
