TWGHs Charity Golf Day at The Hong Kong Golf Club

Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (“TWGHs”) is jointly organizing the Charity Golf Tournament with The Hong Kong Golf Club (“HKGC”) again this year and is grateful to have the staunch support from dunhill London to be the Title Sponsor of the event. The event was held on 19 February 2016 at the Fanling Golf Course of the HKGC, with the honorable presence of Mr. Richard YUEN, JP, Permanent Secretary for Food and Health (Health), Mr. CHEUK Wing-hing, JP, Permanent Secretary for Innovation and Technology and Prof. Maurice YAP, Board Member of Hospital Authority as the Guests of Honour.

Miss Maisy Ho, Chairman of TWGHs, extended her gratitude to dunhill London and HKGC for their unfailing support to make this great event possible, and acknowledges the generosity of all corporations and individual donors. Miss Ho also added that it was indeed very encouraging that over $1.2 million was raised for this event in support of the medical and health, education and community services of TWGHs.

Numerous celebrities and artistes participated in the tournament, including Albert Au, Patrick Dunn, Andrew Lam and Francis Sung, while Simon Yam and Ronald Kwok will be repersenting dunhill team.

All direct expenses of the event have been sponsored by TWGHs Board of Directors and Title Patrons of the events and no administrative costs will be deducted from the donations of the general public to ensure all public donations will go directly to our services.

Since its establishment in 1870, TWGHs has been all along upholding its mission “To heal the sick and to relieve the distressed; to care for the elderly and to rehabilitate the disabled; to promote education and to nurture youngsters; and to raise the infants and to guide the children.” Nowadays, TWGHs has become the largest charitable organization in Hong Kong. For over a hundred years, TWGHs’ medical and health, education and community services have developed rapidly to fulfill the needs of the society and to provide high quality services at low rates. Today, TWGHs operates over 292 services centres, including 5 hospitals and health services and 27 Chinese medicine services centres, 53 education services centres, 205 community services centres that cover elderly, youth and family, rehabilitation and traditional services, whilst the Tung Wah Museum strives to promote, restore and preserve the heritage and relics of TWGHs. TWGHs Record Centre has been set up to preserve TWGHs’ valuable cultural assets.
