Question 1: Is a referral letter required for attending the Chinese Medicine Specialist Outpatient clinics?

Answer:

No referral letter is required for attending the Chinese Medicine Specialist Outpatient clinics. However, it is advised that appointment is to be made by phone or in person prior to the attendance.

Question 2: If a patient has received treatment at one TWGHs Chinese Medicine General/Specialist Outpatient Clinic, will the Chinese Medicine Practitioners be able to retrieve the patient's medical history if the patient receives treatment at other TWGHs Chinese M

Answer:

TWGHs Chinese Medicine General/Specialist Outpatient clinics adopt a centralized electronic patient record by TWGHs' "Chinese Medicine Clinical Information System", Chinese Medicine Practitioners can retrieve any patients' medical records at any clinics.

Question 3: Is payment by EPS or credit card available?

Answer:

Sorry, payment by EPS is only available at Tung Wah Hospital – The University of Hong Kong Clinical Centre for Teaching and Research in Chinese Medicine; And no credit card payment is available at TWGHs Chinese Medicine clinical centres.

Question 4: Is medical certificate available from the Chinese medicine clinical centres of TWGHs?

Answer:

Patients can obtain a medical certificate (attendance note) for free from the Chinese Medicine Practitioner on the day of consultation.

With effect from 1 December 2006, patients can obtain a medical certificate (leave certificate) from the Chinese Medicine Practitioner when he/she deemed it justified and necessary.
